It took a trip to daytona for me and rich to realize how fuckin gay it is to trash bikes...Wow, this was the worst daytona ever. As i rode around, i would see kids riding next to me or past me fuckin around and just looking like you sterotypical SQUID. i was like, wow! do we look like that?? the more and more i rode sportbikes, the more i just hate them and find them gay. They do not appeal to me at all anymore.. Infact the next bike i buy will be a custom chopper. I dont know what it is or if i hit my head, but i absolutely love them and have to have one... i will not buy another sportbike until i have one of these.. and holy fuckin shit, do not even get me started on your "top" stunt riders...i used to be friends with these kids, but for some reason they think you are the coolest motherfucker to live just cause you can ride wheely's. I dont know, maybe i'm just having a bad day, but i'm really tired of this shit and bout to drop it.. do a while now, i've thought about sellin my r1 and pickin up a new hobby like shifter kart racing, but time will tell... One things for sure, i will be buyin a choppers inc bike in the near future.

Then it starts to get old after your on your third trashed bike it's like why am i doing this to my bike and body? then you do some track days and start have some real fun. until you start pushing to hard and crashing then it's like why am i doing this to my bike and body? Then you get to the real motorcycle riding meeting on a sunday with freinds and going for a brisk ride though the county roads and a beer afterwards aahhh thats much better im in one piece my bike is in one piece and so are my freinds now thats cool!!!!! 8-)

i know what your sayin. i love goin out for rides with my friends, but face it. your gonna fuck around sooner or later. and i'm no newbie if thats what you meant. but sometimes i think, wow, what if i fell and lost my fuckin legs. would my girl really stay with me? i wouldn't even want her to. she's be throwin her life away cause i was not smart enough to realize what i was doing.. I hear all these people say, and i used to say it.."i'll never stop riding for anyone!" this is just plain selfish.. what if you have a wife and kid and a history of falling and gettin hurt.. you think it was worth it to "ride forever" when your kid has no father.....

ok.....first off, i dont consider myself a stunter. period. Im a biker, who does stunts from time to time, and i would seriously never stop riding for anyone. Why do I do stunts? i dunno its fun. Ill do them alone....ill do them in front of people. who knows. Ever since I strapped my leg over my first bike at 17 i was hooked on it. I could never understand how people could just up and quit for one reason or another. I couldnt . no matter what. If your sayin you think its stupid to sit in a parking lot all day and scrape your tail on the ground thats one thing. because anything can get boring if you do it enough. NICK and RICH, I got tons of respect for you guys.

I have never had the personal satisfaction of throwing my front wheel up. It looks cool, I'm impressed with amount of skill and cojones it takes, but it's not one of the goals I want to achieve on my bike. I've had 2.5 seasons and 10000~ miles underneath my belt, I love riding twisties at a brisk pace, but I still consider myself a noob. But, we do ride sportbikes. Each time we ride we take a risk that we may not make it back in one piece or we may not make it back at all. That's fucking impressive devotion and love for the sport. So, its even more impressive to see someone give up something he loves to be around his wife and kids.

You do what you need to. Hopefully, I have the cojones to give up riding when I have my own kids. :gay moment:

I'm going to make a confession here. The only reason I got a GSXR 1000 was so I could make wheelies. Seriously, I got sick of having to try so hard on my F4i. I rode with Bart and his friends and they were hoisting em up at like 75 mph and I couldn't. I'm a squid and proud of it.

look around at the cruiser/chopper guys. it's the same shit. black leather jackets with tassels, bandannas, chaps, trying to look tough and cool. you'll just be part of another scene, all blended in and conformed. theres no individuality there either. they all look the same to me when i see them in groups. also, choppers are all the rage now so you'll really be entering something mainstream and common.

Even after reading 5 pages of posts, this might be a little late, so sue me.

When I ride, I stunt, not well at all, but I still have a little fun here and there. I used to be big into the import scene, then the lowrider truck scene, now im in the sportbike thing, and I enjoy riding just as much as any of the others I just listed. Everyone goes through phases and your goal is to find the phase that fits your lifestyle the best. You'll eventually come back around to something that you have previous let go. Rich and Nick, do your thing, what ever that may be. No matter what TSSB still has the love. Even if your next phase is having sex with 90 year old women.

been there, done the scene, the scene sucks and is a dead end road. im not saying i wont do a wheelie ever again in my life but never again will i associate myself as serious with stunting like i used to. like mike said, a wheelie never turned its back on me and never talked back to me. wheelies, and bikes for that matter, are always there to ease your mind. im getting too old to be smashing bikes and running around like a fucking ex-con when im on the road. id rather live a normal life without fearing jail time or expensive repairs due to me trying to do a wheelie in a circle. i'll slow roll a bike for some people, take some hands off, just to make some jaws drop because thats what i like to do. i like being the center of attention and i get it done right. making a serious living out of stunting isnt the way to go. there are no promises as to where the sport is going or will end up. right now all holds is a "sideshow" status to be checked out by either the riders or the curious. granted its very popular in europe, but we arent europe and it doesnt hold that status here. not to say it wont, but in my eyes, i dont want to waste my life and money away waiting to find out. i have more important things to do.

Since they cost so much you wont see them all over the road so i wouldn't expect it to get played out. I love wheelies and shit, and i'll never stop. I have a crusier...older but fine....1981 mint Honda CB 650 with 9800 miles on it and I have ridden it to lake george and other long trips and my gixxer 750 is alot more comfortable for me ont he longer trips!! And i have back problems too!! :sick:

You know what, I had that same revelation back in the Summer. I sold my GSXR750 and bought a dualsport! Some people where like "WHY!?"...Well, I now have a bike that can do ~105mph and at the same time I have a pretty capable dirtbike. Street riding is one thing, but trails are where I love to ride (no soccer moms on their cellphones driving with their knees while screaming at her 5 kids that are having a food fight in the back seat)...And best of all...No speed limits! I would much rather do 40 in the woods than 100+ on the street (not to mention the huge risk you take doing triple digits on public roads).
