What diagnostic tests are you taking to prep for the test? Sybex, Syngress, etc...are nice brain dumps but they simply won't cut it for the actual test.

What you need to do is get your hands on some Transcender simulation exams and just go balls out.

Understand though that if you're taking Prometric tests - they're just not fair - and it's not because you're stupid or didn't study. There's 2 ways to make a question difficult - you can ask one question with many subquestions that test a range of your knowledge - then there's what Prometric does and that's intentional ambiguity. Their questions are difficult because they don't give you enough information to make an informed decision. In all honesty - a good majority of the microdick approved procedures are nothing I'd use in a real world scenario.

Anyway good luck to you - I actually did manage to pass on my first try but I busted my fvckin ass to study and barely passed. The transcender exams are almost exact copies of the prometric exams - if anything they're harder...so if you can pass one of those and understand why you got the ones wrong that you did - you'll have a fighting chance at passing the real exam.

hahahah, stupid me i thought you were joking/mocking the other cert-getting-people on this site. the solitare expert / minesweeper thing threw me off.

Mochaboy is definitely right - Prometric tests play mind games all the way thru, giving you bullshit nuanced questions, ambigiuous questions, or seemingly duplicate answers. the way I see it is that is 2 things - 1) fucking annoying 2) prepares you for interpreting instructions/info from someone who doesn't really know what they're talking about. for those types of test you really have to "study for the test" more than study the information, which is kinda stupid for the real world but I'm assuming you're trying to get the cert to get a raise, more job opportunities, or some other objective and you're not only taking it to learn.

the MCSE Exam Cram series is decent, it is definitely tailored to the test, and it will help you get the cert. if you want to avoid wasting money, study and take any practice tests you can until you can get a 90%+ without much difficulty, then go for the real test.

so i guess MC$E is filtered to "MCSE" by the site.

thanks fellas, i have the preplogic 70-216 practice test.
i took the 70-210 and 70-215 by studying this and reading a few books here and there.

on the preplogic tests i average about 20 wrong on a practice test that i didnt take before. when i take the same test again a few days later i get like 5 - 10 wrong. but sometimes it might be because i memorized the question..

so for here now i will try some more, i belive my exam tests are transender, hmm actually they might have been from vue when i took them. oh well i gotta take the test this saturday or sunday...

Didnt do 216 yet but I will have to. I hear its difficult. Definitely the practice tests from PrepLogic help, go to the following URL and buy a study guide from here too. I found their guides to be almost same questions on the tests. http://www.2bcertified.net/

Good Luck... Security+ is a bitch too!!!!

*sigh* i took my test this morning fellas
i failed by 2 questions!!!!

got a 660 out of 700 (each question worth 20 points)
it was 50 questions.

most were mad hard and i swear that it asked questions that werent even in the books.

i think it sometimes asks questions that are from previous test.

i was so tempted to take it again right there but i know its different questions every time, im gonna study some more and hope i can rock it.. otherwise that will be another $125 down the drain *sniff* :( :(

Which test did you take? I'
m assuming it was a microsoft test since passing was 700 and you said it cost 125. 00. My advice go to www.actualanswers.com

They have study guides with very close actual questions that you see on the MS exams.
