Man, yesterday I saw this freak incline 455....after about 10 sets of ridiculous bench in the 4 range....What is the most weight you have ever witnessed lifted in person

this dude at Sausage Zone (fit zone) benches 4 plates on each side for reps! On squats he is amazing.

I saw a guy do 45 degree leg-presses with 10 plates on each side and a guy standing on the platform. The 45 degree machine in my gym has two prongs which are used to hold weights, so he fit 5 plates on each prong on each side.

He had to be pressing close to 1100 pounds. Guy's legs looked like redwood tree stumps.

Most I ever flat benched max was about 310 for six reps, but I don't record that in my training diary, which is found in my sig.

I maxed 415 on bench for 2 reps. 2nd reps was w/ a spot.

Anytime you do heavy weight like that on your legs, they feel like rubber. It's weird and cool at the same time.

Most I did was 1170 on leg presses got 4 reps out woul dhave went heavier but I couldnt fit any more plates on there and no one would sit on the sled for me and squats I did 515 twice. My knees are now shot from all the years of football so that wont be hapening again

it was kind of cool to see people clap when I did the leg presses though.

A good friend of mine still benches 315lbs w/o spot for about 15 reps and then can go to 405 for 3-4 no problem!!!

When I was about 23, I was able to do leg presses with 10- 45lb plates on each side on the 45degree leg press for 10 reps!!!! No help!! Also was doing 365 bench for 4 reps no spot!!! :red danc:

Now at 29 years old, I have serious A-C Joint problems (Acromio-clavicular joint) also known as "Weightlifters Shoulder"along with impingement in my left rotator cuff!!! :cussing:
I havent been able to go heavy in about 2-3 years and now I am lucky if I can bench 185 lbs for one rep w/o serious pain!!!!!!
Heavy is definitely not the way to go w/o any long breaks in between. It messed me up big time!!
At least I have a GF that I will marry soon and I have no need to be a Meat Head and hang out at the Old Factory like I used to!!!!!! I can be skinny and / or fat and love it!!! :cheer:

Leg Press: 1260 for 8...12 plates each side and 4 resting on top

Flat Bench 315 for 4

Incline Dumbell Press 140's for 6

Military Press 3 plates and a 10 each side on the smith machine(1/2 the gym stopped to watch me do this one)

The most I've ever seen anyone bench was when I spotted a guy who did 500...needles to say he didn't need a spot

If you saw that in high school in oakland, nj that was me. The gym teacher was yelling at up for F-ing around and putting all the weights on the sled. I lifted it, he stopped talking, I lifted it again and he walked out of the room.

Hack squats, at least I think that's the machine you are talking about. Tonight, this guy, he's a house and getting ready to compete in June or July, he was on the press machine with two levels to stack and had them both filled with 45's  I think he caught me staring a few times, I was trying to count them

Heheh. Everytime I hear some of those guys yelling and screaming, I always make a comment about putting the weight down if it hurts so much. Most of them have a sense of humour

I used to be in the gym for 2 hours 5x a week. This past summer, At 5'8", I weighed 180, and had (still have) a 29" waist. So for the past 5-6 months, I dropped to 165. Now both my Teknic jackets fit  I'm staying at that weight.

Anywhooo...To go back on topic, I once saw a 400+ fat lady walk up the stairs to the cardio room.... :P

I used to see a guy at my gym warm up on the bench press with 315 for 20 reps . Supposedly he holds or held a bench press record , benching 560lbs at a bodyweight of 180lbs ( if I remember correctly ).I'm guessing hes around 5'8 , COMPLETELY ripped. Ive also seen him doing reps with 315 , behind the neck shoulder presses , and these were full reps , no partial rep BS .

I kinda find that hard to believe...not saying yer lieing...just that I would have to see it for myself...I mean seriously...after about umm I duuno say 30 reps muscle fatiuge would be setting in...especially if this is a "burn out" set after the regular work out...

I dont thinkthat he can do 75 reps of that either....not at the end!!
Lactic acid builds up after normally 20 seconds or so...then since this type of excersise is anerobic....the glucose stores are quickly used up...lactic acid builds up and soon you just cant do anymore.

jerseybowles
03-17-2004, 02:48 PM
They do 225 for as many reps as you can get going into NFL combines, I'm pretty sure around 30 is damn good....I knew a guy that could do it 32 times in college and he maxed out at 460 (running back for the steelers right now)....so 75 seems way far fetched to me
