Ok guys here's my dilemma. A buddy of mine has been begging me to take off work and go hang with him. He's all about partying and meeting girls but his ego and attitude with women is just not my style. He wants to go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans or spring break in South Padre Island, Texas. I'm so over the college scene and I just don't feel like being his "wingman" to pick up chicks. Anyone else have a hard time telling friends, "sorry but I'm saving my money and vacation for track days." :(

If he's your friend then he will understand. If not, tell him to go scour the local high schools for people more on his level.

LMAO! WTF? Don't hate on the playa :D

Yeah, if he's your friend he would understand. You're in a different level of mindset. Just tell him how you feel. Its no big deal unless he makes it as one.

Skip Mardi Gras and South Padre Island and avoid the clap.

Lol...not going to happen. I got Montreal snowboarding and partying planned instead!

I say if it doesn't blow up your funds, just go. Pretty soon your twenties will pass you by and there goes your chance at chasing young college tail. You better smoke them while you got them. Seriously...I have a hard time saying no to vacations as well but you know your priorities better than your buddies do.

I don't know Ian, I kind of agree with Lucky, your still young and if you have the means and the time to go I would go. Although if you just do not want to go then you need to tell him that you are better than him now (lol just kidding) and that you would rather save the money and your vacation days for Track time. If he does not understand than like everyone else said, you do not need him around and he will find a new person to party with.

IMO, you're saying two different things.

I don't want to party with my friend, because if there are hot chicks around, I'll have to follow his lead; and

I don't have money to do this.

I ask this because if he offers to buy you a ticket, what will you do?

Thanks to everyone for all your insights. I think I will pass on the vacation, I honestly think I'll have a better time on the track lol. I can spend less money in NYC or Philly too meet chicks and I'm sure he would make that trip instead. I have money to go but I'd rather spend it on a sure thing I know I will like, that was my point Darryl. He def has the bank roll to buy me a ticket but I wouldn't allow him to do it. He can find someone else I'm sure. I just feel bad bc basically I'm saying sorry my bike is more important than you in a way.

So you actually like college girls, but your hobbies have taken some of your spending money.

Your issue is not a college girl thing, but purely a money issue. Tell him like you told me.

He'll be cool with it!

Dude don't worry, unless he's a total douche, he'll understand. I'm sure he'll even show you the nudie pics or let you sniff the panties he collects from the trip.

No bike especially sice its cold and especially with the US dollar valuation vs the Canadian dollar. Dude, you get gas in liters and it is expensive.

You probably have. :( There aren't that many, about six I think. But on one youtube clip at the end there is some extra stuff that never made it to a full commercial I guess.

I'm all about partying but if I wasn't into what my friend is into I wouldn't go either. Use your money on what you love best and you won't regret it. ;)

Do it while you can. You might regret not going down the road.
