We’ve all already established that women are insane. During my hunt for the perfect girl I’ve come to realize that attempting to find someone that’s not insane is as useless as trying to impregnate a blow up doll. I think it might be in a man’s best interest to find a girl who is the least insane. I’ve also come to the conclusion that once a girlfriend moves to X-girlfriend status that her insanity level jumps up at least 60% more than it already was.

For example: About two years ago I met a girl, who will remain nameless, at a local bar (mistake #1). I bought her a beer, we began talking and things seemed to be going pretty well. We decided to go out on a date and hit it off pretty well. This should have been a warning sign right off the bat…too good, too soon. This relationship began towards the end of the summer, right before we went back to school. We decided to stay together and work it out. This is where she really got crazy.

About a month into the long distance relationship she started playing mind games. Saying things like “I love you, but I don’t want to be with you.” Now what the hell does a sentence like that mean? It makes no sense whatsoever and just leads you on. I would rather a girl say, “I don’t like you so we are breaking up”, instead of “I love you so we are breaking up.” Me, being the dumb ass that I am, attempted to stop her from breaking up with me (mistake #2). And so the mind games continued. A month later, still dating on and off, I decided I’ve had enough and it was time to call it quits for good. To my surprise, this was totally out of the question for her. As soon as I broke it off she wanted to be with me forever or some bullshit like that. But this time I would not give in. I firmly decided that we should no longer speak and cut off contact completely. I mean what’s really the point of remaining friends anyway. You will never be able to act like friends so why pretend to be friends.

Around this time is when the craziness turned into scariness. Not wanting to deal with her anymore I ignored her totally. Soon I started waking up to 50+ away messages. I would block the screen name and she would create a new one just to IM me. She then started harassing my roommates. Asking them questions about where I am and what I’m doing. Next the phone calls started piling up. We once counted 18 phone calls in 11 minutes, each with its own voice mail containing yelling and screaming mixed in with “I love you.” Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, the threats started rolling in. Phone calls where she threatened to hurt me and hurt herself became common. I distinctly remember a message saying, “We’ll see what you do when I show up outside of your door! Then we’ll see how well you can ignore me!”

The craziness became so out of hand I considered contacting the authorities in order get some sort of restraining order. After a while the calls would eventually die down, however the damage was done. The mental strain scarred me for life. There are still a few bars near my house that I refuse to visit just in case she might be there lurking in the shadows with some sort of weapon. For all I know the bitch could be a ninja by now and is plotting my demise as we speak.

For this reason, gentlemen, I urge you to have all of your potential girlfriends psychologically evaluated by at least, AT LEAST, 3 shrinks. And if the evaluations come back positive, I still urge you to wait at least 6 months before getting too serious with a woman. Sometimes 6 months might not be enough, we all remember what happened to John Bobbit and he was already married. Failure to take such measures could result in physical injury and possibly death.

With that being said I wish all of you much luck in the search for love, happiness, or just some good old fashioned lovin’.
